Utah Valley University Gets To Play In Tournament After Money Dispute

(Orem, UT) — Utah Valley University will play in the Western Athletic Conference tournament for men’s and women’s basketball. That agreement was reached after the WAC threatened to keep them out over a one-million dollar payment. Because Utah Valley is getting ready to leave the WAC for the Big West Conference, it has to pay a one-million dollar exit fee. The WAC was threatening to keep the teams off the court if that money was not placed in an escrow account. Multiple reports say that money is now being transferred and the teams will get to play this week in Las Vegas.
