Utah School Board Member Natalie Cline Meets With Republican Lawmakers

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah State School Board member Natalie Cline is doing damage control. Media reports say she met privately with state House Republicans on Tuesday. The GOP-controlled legislature is trying to come up with a response to the social media-generated controversy created by Cline. The board member in a since deleted post falsely claimed a female high-school athlete was transgender. Community and state leaders have generally denounced Cline’s action. Lawmakers were nearly 30 minutes late returning to the floor Tuesday afternoon because of the meeting.
