(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Rep. Trevor Lee is sponsoring a bill to rename Harvey Milk Boulevard in Salt Lake City to Charlie Kirk Boulevard. Harvey Milk was an LGBT-plus leader and one of the first openly gay elected officials in the country. Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was killed at an event at Utah Valley University in September. If House Bill 196 advances during the upcoming legislative session, it would require approval by both chambers of the Utah Legislature. If passed, the street name change would take effect in May.
