Utah GOP Says It Surpassed Signature Goal To Repeal Proposition 4

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Republican Party Chairman Robert Axson says the party has collected more than 200-thousand signatures in an effort to repeal Proposition 4. The GOP needed about 141-thousand signatures, equal to eight-percent of eligible voters, in at least 26 of the state’s 29 Senate districts to qualify the measure for the 2026 ballot. Proposition 4, approved by voters in 2018, created an independent redistricting commission aimed at making the process nonpartisan. If enough signatures are certified, opponents would have six weeks to ask voters to remove their names. The measure has faced ongoing legal challenges since its passage.
