(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah will receive 195-million dollars to improve rural health. The federal Rural Health Transformation Program will be giving out 50-billion dollars over the next five years. The program is designed to expand primary care, maternal health and mental health services in rural areas. The idea is to use the money to buy equipment, hire more people and modernize health care systems. There are 10 approved uses for the funds. States are required to spend the money on at least three of those uses.
