(Salt Lake City, UT) — When the Winter Olympics return in just over eight years, the name will be “Utah 2034”. The name is designed to emphasize the entire state’s role in the games. In 2002, the Salt Lake City Olympics was far more specific and city leaders this time around are not thrilled with the new name. They believe using Salt Lake City in the Olympic name worked well in 2002, so there’s no reason to make a change.
