UHP sends out warning after hundreds of crashes with storm

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Highway Patrol is urging drivers to slow down after hundreds of crashes happened across the state Monday.

The Department of Public Safety says more than 450 crashes happened between midnight and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

At least four drivers hit UHP vehicles as they worked accident scenes or tried to keep traffic away from unsafe road conditions.

The highway patrol says drivers should reduce their speed and move over if they see emergency vehicles stopped on the highway at any time.

A statement from UHP says, “the message has been the same for every winter storm, slow down.”
