UHP: 82% Increase For Wrong-Way Drivers In 2022

(Salt Lake City, UT) — New numbers show a major increase in wrong-way crashes this year. The Utah Highway Patrol says troopers have responded to 20 wrong-way crashes in 2022, which is an 82-percent increase from this time in 2021. So far, eight of those crashes have been deadly. Troopers note that most of the incidents happen late at night, and most of the drivers were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
