(Salt Lake City, UT) — Hundreds of students at Salt Lake City’s West High School were marked absent from second hour yesterday as they held a walkout and rally with transgender students. The exit from class follows the legislative override of Governor Cox’s veto of a bill preventing transgender girls from playing sports. Student Mar Arellano is non-binary and says as much as some want them gone, they’re “not going anywhere.”
