On May 29, Sevier County officers received a phone message reporting an active shooter at a local high school. Officers responded and found no evidence of any shooter or other violent activity taking place. Investigations are taking place across the country as other states are receiving similar reports. In a statement it was shared that “multiple hoax calls have claimed active shooter situations in various schools throughout the state. These calls are taken very seriously and are immediately looked into by law enforcement agencies.” The Sevier County Sheriff’s office shared that all Sevier School District schools had law enforcement on site throughout the day
