(Salt Lake City, UT) — State leaders released their plan to combine the Utah Department of Health and the Human Services Department into a single agency. The proposal from Governor Spencer Cox calls for the new Utah Department of Health and Human Services, or DHHS, to begin work on July 1st. Legislative leaders say the goal is to streamline services and increase efficiency between two agencies already providing similar services. In the first year, none of the public-facing services in either department will relocate.
