(Salt Lake City, UT) — With the federal government shutdown now over, new SNAP benefits should return within about 24 hours. The federal food assistance that one in eight Americans depend on was put on hold during the shutdown and cards were not reloaded. According to the USDA, now that a spending plan has been passed by Congress and signed by the President, the money could be back on SNAP cards as soon as today.
