Single-Vehicle Crash In Parowan Knocks Out Power To Hundreds

(Parowan, UT) — Hundreds of homes and businesses in Parowan lost power late Thursday morning when a pickup truck hit a power pole. Parowan police say the truck belonging to a local electrical contractor swerved off 200 South, hit a power pole and crashed through a cinder block wall before slamming into a large pine tree and coming to a stop. It happened around 11:40 a.m. near the front entrance to the Foothills mobile home community. Power was restored to customers outside the community and City Manager Dan Jessen said electricity was expected to be back on for homes in Foothills by 9 p.m. The man who was driving the pickup had minor injuries.
