(Beaver, UT) — Containment is growing on a wildfire in Beaver County. Officials say the Sheep Rock Fire was 40-percent contained as of yesterday after crews were able to set up perimeters. The fire has not grown in size and remains at 77 acres, while investigators noted there is very little smoke. This comes after the fire led to power shutoffs in the region, including in Beaver, Cedar City, and New Harmony Tuesday night, but power has since been restored. It’s still unclear what sparked the flames earlier this week.
