(Salt Lake City, UT) — Senator Mitt Romney says a solution to save the Great Salt Lake must be found regardless of the cost. Romney, Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson and other state officials toured the lake by airboat on Friday. A bill sponsored by Romney and passed by the Senate would put ten-million dollars toward a study of possible solutions to the dropping water level at the lake. The lake is at its lowest level since it was first measured in the 1800s and experts say the lake’s decline could become an economic and ecological disaster if it isn’t reversed.
