(Provo, UT) — U.S. Senator John Curtis says he wants an independent and transparent investigation after federal agents shot and killed an American nurse in Minnesota. The Utah Republican said the Border Patrol agents who shot Alex Pretti “must be held accountable.” Curtis criticized Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for quickly making conclusions about the Saturday shooting. Hours after the killing, Noem labeled Pretti a domestic terrorist. The 37-year-old has no criminal record and was legally carrying a gun as he filmed federal agents in Minneapolis. Utah Republican Congressman Blake Moore is also calling for an investigation.
