A small plane made an emergency landing on Interstate-70 in Sevier County. The incident occurred just after 2:00 p.m. on Aug. 28 in Salina Canyon when a mechanical issue forced the pilot to land. According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Jason Kelsey, the pilot made repairs, then the UHP closed the freeway long enough for him to take off. The westbound Gooseberry off-ramp was closed for about an hour.
