One person is dead after a drowning at Palisade State Park East of Sterling. According to Utah State Park officials two young men were swimming around 5:00 p.m. Jun. 3 when they started to struggle due to heavy winds causing waves on the water and water temperatures in the 40s. According to eye witnesses, neither of them were wearing a life jacket and a microburst caused the bad conditions. Eye witnesses also reported an 18-year-old boy from Manti, Devin Christensen, helped to rescue one young man, who is ok, and attempted to save the other. Sanpete County Search and Rescue found the body of the other young man, Alejandro Morales age 18 of Goshen, about two hours later with sonar.
