(Moab, UT) — Campfires are now banned in southeast Utah due to quickly drying conditions. Federal land managers say the new restrictions are a first for Utah. They include bans on metal cutting and welding in vegetated areas and no smoking except in a vehicle or building, on a developed recreation site, or on roads that have nothing growing near them.
