(St. George, UT) — Measles is spreading rapidly in Utah with over 100 cases popping up this month from St. George to Vernal. The majority of the cases are appearing in unvaccinated children under 18 years old. About 10-percent of cases are showing up in people who have been vaccinated. Those people typically have mild symptoms. Measles spreads through the air and it’s easy to catch if someone is not vaccinated. The measles vaccine has been used for generations. Measles has killed a few people in America over the past year. About one out of every one-thousand cases results in acute brain swelling.
