(Salt Lake City, UT) — A 25-year-old man is pleading guilty to shooting and killing University of Utah football player Aaron Lowe in 2021. Buk Mawut Buk pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder, first-degree felonies yesterday. In exchange for that plea, prosecutors dismissed additional charges of obstruction of justice and possession of a weapon by a restricted person. Buk is scheduled to be sentenced on April 29th. He faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years to life in the Utah State Prison.
