(Cedar City, UT) — A man accused of kidnapping a woman in southern Utah is being told to stay in custody. Epigemio Marquez appeared in court yesterday following his arrest over the weekend on Interstate-15 in Iron County. It started Saturday when the victim handed a note to a good Samaritan at a gas station that said she was in trouble and to tell police. Police found the vehicle, pulled it over, and then took Marquez into custody. The police report noted Marquez believed the victim was being unfaithful in their relationship and allegedly hit her in the car before pulling over. He’s scheduled to be back in court next week.
