(Orem, UT) — Senator Mike Lee has repeatedly called for a public execution for the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk. Now, some legal experts are concerned. Lawyer Clayton Simms tells 2-News those statements might taint a jury pool. He says Tyler Robinson has a constitutional right to a trial by jury. At least twice in recent days, the Republican U.S. Senator has taken to social media and called for the suspect to be executed. So far, Lee’s office has not responded to requests for additional comments.
