(Moab, UT) — The Utah Supreme Court is set to hear a lawsuit by the family of Gabby Petito against the Moab Police Department. The family’s law firm says the case will be heard on March fourth. Petito and her fiance Brian Laundrie were on a cross-country road trip when they stopped in Moab in 2021. A witness called police when Laundrie reportedly hit Petito. Police talked to the couple, but did not make an arrest. Weeks later, Petito vanished. Her body was later found in Wyoming. Laundrie committed suicide and wrote a letter saying he was responsible for her death.
