Judge Won’t Remove Maloy From Special Election Ballot

(Cedar City, UT) — A judge will not remove Cedar City’s Celeste Maloy from the Utah Republican primary ballot. GOP member Richard Quin Denning said he sued Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson and Maloy because she is an illegal candidate. Denning says Maloy isn’t eligible because she didn’t vote in the 2020 and 2022 elections. The judge said they don’t want to upset the special election process because ballots have already been mailed out. Maloy won the Republican Party nomination in June during a convention in Delta to replace Chris Stewart in Utah’s 2nd Congressional District.
