High Speed Chase Spans Multiple Central Utah Counties

A woman is in custody in Sevier County after a high speed chase that spanned multiple counties. Janae Shultz, age 36 from West Valley, was stopped for speeding on Apr. 22 in Sevier County. She was driving on a suspended drivers license and had a statewide warrant and when she was asked to step out of the vehicle she sped away.

A pursuit was initiated and Shultz drove around Richfield before heading toward Wayne County. An attempt to spike her tires failed and the pursuit was terminated. Later the same night, a Wayne County Deputy saw the car and attempted to stop it, but Shultz fled the scene again. After a chase, Wayne County Sheriff Dan Jensen was able to get ahead of Shultz and blocked her escape.

Shultz was taken into custody and is currently in the Sevier County Jail. In a statement Sevier County  Sheriff Nathan Curtis shared “we appreciate all our local agencies who helped in the pursuit and keep track of us all.”
