(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox has signed into law bills that boost mental health resources across Utah and promote education for inmates in correctional facilities. One of the bills requires the Huntsman Mental Health Institute to develop a youth behavioral health curriculum while another bill boosts funding for mental health services for first responders and their families. Another bill Governor Cox signed into law will fund more medical residencies that will help keep doctors-in-training in Utah after their finish their residency requirements. The bill had passed unanimously in both chambers.
