(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah Governor Spencer Cox is issuing an emergency order to help protect the Great Salt Lake. The order calls for the Great Salt Lake causeway berm to be raised, which will help keep this season’s snowpack from running off. Cox said the state has been “blessed with significant snowpack so far this winter” and he doesn’t want to miss this opportunity to raise water levels in the South Arm.
