Golden Spike Monument Leaves Kentucky, Heading For Utah

(Lexington, KY) — A 43-foot piece of artwork is on its way to Utah. The 43-foot Golden Spike Monument left Lexington, Kentucky yesterday. Over the next two and-a-half weeks it will travel across the U.S. honoring the people who built the transcontinental railroad. The celebration will end October 23rd and 24th at the Utah State Capitol. The seven-thousand-pound golden spike will spend a few months in Brigham City, then travel to California before it’s permanently installed at Golden Spike National Historical Park near Brigham City.
