(Salt Lake City, UT) — Yesterday was the first day the Central Utah Water Conservancy District opened the floodgates to redirect 50-million-gallons of water into the Great Salt Lake. This is something that the agency says it’ll do each day for the next couple of weeks to help replenish the lake’s water levels. Fifty-million-gallons of water is enough to fill around 100 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
