Father Of Alleged Funeral Shooter Arrested

(Kearns, UT) — The father of a teen accused of killing one person and critically injuring another outside a Kearns church is under arrest. Police said Afuhia Manatau’s 17-year-old son got into a fight with two teens during a funeral Monday outside a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse. Investigators said Manatau handed his son a gun, which the teen then used to shoot the two victims. One died and the other remains in critical condition. Police said Manatau then drove away with his son, who had also been shot in the chest, before officers stopped the vehicle following a chase. The teen remains in critical condition, while Manatau is being held without bond.
