One person is in custody after a drug bust in Sevier County. Around 12:00 p.m. on Oct. 24, Sevier County Sgt. A Richards stopped an individual on I-70 for an equipment violation. According to Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis, “during the course of the traffic stop Sgt. Richards could smell the odor of marijuana.” The driver and only occupant of the vehicle Anthony Jamie, age 71 of Las Vegas, claimed to have smoked some marijuana while in Reno, Nevada. A search of the vehicle revealed 211 pounds of raw marijuana located in the trunk. Jamie was then booked into the Sevier County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
