A deadly car crash occurred in Beaver County Tuesday night on northbound I-15 just south of the I-70 East interchange.
Shantel S. Cozart, age 30 from Las Vegas, was driving on I-15 just before 9:30 p.m. on Apr. 28 when she approached a semitruck hauling a trailer.
According to reports, Cozart’s vehicle rear-ended the trailer and became lodged underneath it. The driver of the semitruck pulled over to the shoulder of the road with Cozart’s vehicle still stuck underneath his trailer.
Both drivers involved in the crash were wearing seat-belts. The semitruck driver was uninjured and it is believed that Cozart died on impact.
According to troopers “extreme speed and possible impairment” from Cozart may have been factors in the crash.
