(Wasatch County, UT) — Governor Cox says a new state of emergency to help deal with the ongoing drought is likely to happen in the next few weeks. Cox was at Jordanelle Reservoir yesterday for a ceremony spotlighting water conservation bills passed by the Utah Legislature this year. Cox said he plans to talk with legislative leaders this week about the current drought numbers. Ninety-nine-percent of the state is classified as being in severe drought conditions, with 38-percent in extreme drought.
