Central Utah Woman Charged with Taking Grandmother’s Money

(Huntington, UT) — A 39-year-old relative is charged with taking money from her elderly grandmother that was meant for bills and property taxes. Police say Megan Tara Fillmore was arrested on Monday. She was charged in 7th District Court with financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, a second-degree felony, and misdemeanor abuse of a vulnerable adult. Her initial court appearance is May 21st. Investigators say they learned from the woman’s son in February that he had discovered funds missing that were supposed to be used to take care of household expenses. Fillmore had allegedly moved in with the grandmother a decade ago on the condition she would care for her.
