After a nine hour search for a six year old in Iron County Thursday night, the boy is now home safe with his family.

According to the Iron County Sheriff’s office, Zayden Mortenson had been in the Lund area, shed hunting with his grandmother and others.

The high functioning autistic child had wondered away from the group.

The Iron County search and rescue and Southern Utah University Aviation responded to the area along with K-9 officers.

Zayden was located by searchers at 2 a.m. early Friday morning.
