Anti-Gun Activists Urge Gov. Cox To Veto Teacher Gun Training Bill

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Anti-gun activists are urging Governor Cox to veto a bill that would promote firearms training for school teachers. They gathered at the Utah State Capitol yesterday. The bill would provide free gun training for any teacher who has a valid license, so the weapon can be used in the event of a school shooting. People who are against the bill say more guns in schools could put more children at risk. Governor Cox hasn’t said if he will sign the bill or not, but supports arming and training school staff.
