(Nellis AFB, NV) — The Air Force is honoring airmen for their actions in southern Utah earlier this month. A ceremony was held yesterday at Nellis Air Force Base for the seven airmen who rescued four people during a hiking trip in Zion National Park. The group became trapped when flash flooding trapped them in the park. The rescue included pulling a pregnant woman from a river and reuniting her with the three others in her party. The Air Force says the airmen were then able to traverse through canyons to safety with the group.
