Accused Charlie Kirk Killer In Court For Hearing

(Provo, UT) — The man accused of killing Charlie Kirk was in court yesterday while attorneys argued over the public’s ability to view the court proceedings. Tyler Robinson was dressed in a shirt and tie and was chained to shackles. The 20-year-old from Washington County is accused of capital murder. Prosecutors say he shot the conservative activist in September during an outdoor speech at Utah Valley University. A trial that will decide Robinson’s guilt or innocence won’t start for some time. Yesterday, lawyers on both sides were trying to decide if transcripts from a closed-door hearing should be released. They also discussed a gag order and media access to future hearings. The judge is expected to rule on some of those issues later this month.
