A teenager is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a crash on Highway 89.

Authorities say the crash happened yesterday morning when a vehicle traveling south drifted into oncoming traffic near Birdseye in Sanpete County.

A Kia Sedona crashed into a truck, which then rolled off the road.  The woman inside the Kia was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A father and his son, 13-year-old Maylor Stout, were in the truck.  They were both taken to the hospital, where Maylor was pronounced dead.  The father’s injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.

Officials say drowsy driving may be a factor in the crash.
