CEDAR CITY, Utah-In a statement released by the Southern Utah University athletic department Thursday, the Thunderbirds’ men’s and women’s basketball seasons will commence without spectators.

Several factors went into this decision.

Among them are rising covid-19 cases in Utah and the university’s commitment to health and well-being of student-athletes.

A coaches and players pass list will be available for four direct family members to attend the event.
