Championship Match

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Union Cougars prevailed 3-1 over Morgan at the Sevier Valley Center Wednesday in the 3-A state volleyball championship match. The Cougars downed the Trojans 20-25, 28-26, 25-16 and 25-20 to win their second consecutive 3-A state title. This is Union’s third all-time state volleyball championship, having previously won in 1976 and 2019.

Semifinals

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Morgan Trojans outlasted Carbon 3-2 Wednesday in the 3-A state volleyball semifinals at the Sevier Valley Center. The Trojans got past the Dinos 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 28-30 and 15-9 in the clinching set. The Trojans next play Union this evening at 7:00 pm for the 3-A state championship.

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Union Cougars, seeking to defend last season’s 3-A state volleyball championship, downed South Summit 3-2 at the Sevier Valley Center in the state semifinals Wednesday. The Cougars outlasted the Wildcats 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 16-25 and 15-11 in the clinching set.

3rd-4th Place Match

RICHFIELD, Utah-The South Summit Wildcats earned third place at the 3-A state volleyball tournament Wednesday by routing Carbon 3-0 at the Sevier Valley Center. The Wildcats prevailed 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23 to down the Dinos in straight sets. Carbon ends the season by placing fourth.

5th-6th Place Match

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats placed fifth at the 3-A state volleyball tournament by besting North Sanpete 3-1 Wednesday in the 5th-6th place match at the Sevier Valley Center. The Wildcats prevailed 25-19, 25-18, 26-28 and 25-19 in the clinching set. The Hawks conclude their season by placing sixth.
