Football

Region 14

NEPHI, Utah-Alex Jackson completed 11 of 22 passes for 204 yards and two scores as the Juab Wasps routed Manti 34-14 to take the Region 14 lead over the Templars Friday evening.

The 7-1 Wasps (3-0 in Region 14 play) ran for 241 yards on the evening to complement Jackson’s 204 passing yards and outgained Manti 445-296.

Jackson threw scoring passes of 12 yards to Dawson Olsen and 33 yards to Jakob Bailey.

Tailback Trey Lund (12 car, 89 yards, TD) added a 40-yard touchdown run for Juab in the rout.

After Manti had some life on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jax Parry (16-32, 175 yards, 2 TD’s/INT) to Tanner Justesen (9 rec, 109 yards, TD), Juab wrested control completely back on the ensuing kickoff.

Bodee Blackett’s return gave Juab momentum they would not relinquish en route to the decisive victory.

Ryker Richards added field goals of 37 and 32 yards for the Wasps in victory.

Tyler Taukieaho added a 5-yard touchdown run for the Templars with Austin Cox stepping up with a 2-point conversion for Manti as well in defeat.

The Wasps ensue in Region 14 play October 9 as they visit Delta. This will be a KMGR Classy FM broadcast.

Meanwhile, the 3-5 Templars return home October 9 to face fellow Sanpete County rival North Sanpete.

This will be a broadcast on KMTI.

ROOSEVELT, Utah-Will Finlinson had scoring runs of 40 and 10 yards as the Delta Rabbits smacked Union 28-9 Friday in Region 14 football action. Austin Topham added a pair of touchdown passes in victory for Delta.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Landon Bowles threw touchdown passes of 70 yards to Braxton Taylor and 20 yards to Magnus Clawson as the North Sanpete Hawks routed American Leadership 42-14 in Region 14 football action Friday. Bowles added a pair of scoring runs for the Hawks and Cole Mickel added an 18-yard fumble return for a score in the win for North Sanpete.

2-A South

KANAB, Utah-Crayton Hollingshead had touchdown runs of 12, 68 and 43 yards as the Beaver Beavers decimated Kanab 56-7 Friday in 2-A South football action. Taevin Hunter (51 yards), Treyson Hunter (5 yards), Hunter Carter (14 yards) and Jayton Jessup (9 yards) also added touchdown runs in victory for Beaver. Wyatt Kennedy scored on a fumble recovery in defeat for the Cowboys.

MILFORD, Utah-Bo Hardy threw touchdown passes to Blake Barnes (7 yards) and Bret Beebe (84 yards) as the Milford Tigers waxed Millard 27-13 in 2-A South football action Friday. Beebe added a 1-yard touchdown run and an 83-yard fumble for a score in the win for the Tigers. In defeat, Mehki Davis hauled in a 7-yard scoring reception and Jed DeGraffenried had a 50-yard touchdown run for the Eagles.

SALINA, Utah-Hutch Miller threw four touchdown passes and ran for two more scores as the Parowan Rams outgunned North Sevier 48-41 Friday in 2-A South football action. Landan Gale had three touchdown runs in the loss for the Wolves and added a 90-yard kickoff return for another score. Kannin Boswell threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Snyder and added a 10-yard touchdown run in the loss for North Sevier.

Region 12

CASTLE DALE, Utah-Ryker Jensen threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Emery Spartans clobbered South Sevier 38-7 in Region 12 football action Friday. Jaxin Torgerson had a 73-yard touchdown run in the loss for the Rams.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Kasey Giddings returned an interception 45 yards for a score and added touchdown runs of 7 and 24 yards while also hauling in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Gavin Brown as the Richfield Wildcats waxed San Juan 34-20 Friday in Region 12 football action. Brown added a 2-yard touchdown run in the win for Richfield.

Volleyball

Region 12

BLANDING, Utah-The South Sevier Rams knocked off San Juan 3-1 Friday in Region 12 volleyball action. The Rams won 25-22, 25-10, 24-26, 25-17.

Non-Region

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-Morgan Zandberg had 13 kills and Intermountain Christian earned a straight set sweep over Panguitch, 3-0 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Lions won 25-16, 25-17, 25-20. Alexis Allen had 10 kills in the loss for the Bobcats.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-Amelia Valente had 33 assists and Intermountain Christian knocked off Milford 3-1 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Lions prevailed 25-15, 20-25, 25-10, 25-23.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-Amelia Valente had six aces and Intermountain Christian swept Bryce Valley 3-0 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Lions won 25-8, 25-13, 25-16.

UTAH-Alexis Allen had 19 kills and the Panguitch Bobcats swept Wendover 3-1 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Bobcats won 25-21, 25-16, 25-16.

UTAH-Alexis Allen had 19 kills and four blocks as the Panguitch Bobcats beat Tabiona 3-1 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Bobcats won 22-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.

UTAH-The Milford Tigers swept Tabiona 3-0 Friday in non-region volleyball action. Milford won 25-23, 25-14, 25-20.

UTAH- The Milford Tigers swept Wendover 3-0 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Tigers prevailed 25-14, 25-12, 25-22.

ORDERVILLE, Utah-The Valley Buffaloes knocked off Beaver 3-1 Friday in non-region volleyball action. Valley prevailed 21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-12.

Saturday

Baseball

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kyler Bennett doubled and earned the win on the mound with six strikeouts as No. 5 Panguitch beat No. 12 Pinnacle 9-2 Saturday in the second round of the 1A baseball state tournament. Justice Savage had three hits, including a double in the win for the Bobcats. Panguitch advances to play No. 4 Tabiona in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 2 pm.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Brody Durfey and Jesse Webb combined to throw 15 strikeouts as the No. 6 Wayne Badgers beat No. 14 Green River 12-2 Saturday in the second round of the 1A baseball state tournament. Durfey added a double and a triple in the win while Reed Edwards hit a home run, Reed Edwards hit two doubles and Ryland Rees doubled. Wayne advances to play No. 3 Wendover in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 11:45 am.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-The No. 9 Bryce Valley Mustangs upset No. 8 Intermountain Christian 25-4 Saturday in the second round of the 1A baseball state tournament. Bryce Valley advances to play No. 1 Valley in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 4:15 pm.

Region 12

BLANDING, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats topped San Juan 3-1 Saturday in Region 12 volleyball action.
