Possible COVID-19 exposures at North Sevier High School

On Sept. 2, a message was sent out to faculty members and parents of students of North Sevier High School saying that they were informed that some students were possibly exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.

Due to privacy laws, no additional information will be released about the positive case.

According to Sevier School District Superintendent Cade Douglas, they “are working with the health department to identify anyone who was potentially exposed and may need to quarantine.”

Douglas also stated that “because we have been following our protocols with social distancing and face coverings, we do not anticipate large numbers of students needing to quarantine.”

In the message, it was stated that if your child was exposed you will hear from the health department or NSHS and that another message will be sent out to all parents once each of those individuals have been contacted. If you are not contacted, your child has not been exposed and is not at risk.

Anyone wanting more information is asked to contact the health department at 435-896-5451.
