EPHRAIM, Utah-After picking up two important Scenic West Athletic Conference victories over the weekend, two Snow College players earned conference offensive and defensive players-of-the-week honors.
Korrin Thornock and Savannah Tanner helped lead the Badgers to a 2-0 record on the week, including a four-set victory over No. 8 Salt Lake CC and a 3-0 win over defending national champion, the College of Southern Idaho.
Thornock, a native of Spanish Fork, Utah, (Spanish Fork HS) was named the offensive player of the week after hitting .345 against the Bruins with 12 kills on 29 attempts.
Thornock totaled a match high 13 kills on 25 attempts with just one error against CSI on Saturday. She hit a blistering .480 for the match. As a six-rotation player, Thornock also recorded 17 digs on the week, including 12 digs against SLCC. For the week, Thornock averaged 3.57 kills per set and hit .407. On the season she has recorded 10 matches with 10 or more kills and has hit .300 or better eight times this season.
Tanner, a native of Gilbert, Ariz. (Gilbert HS) led the Badgers with 42 digs on the week, including a season-high 28 digs against No. 8 Salt Lake C.C. Tanner averaged 6.0 digs per set for the week. Tanner produced 92.5 serve-receive percentage and passed a solid 2.3 for the week.
