Rep. Albrecht expresses his concern about too many predators

Carl Albrecht of the Utah House of Representatives expressed his concern about too many predators.

Albrecht said on Monday October 7 that rural Utah has a real problem with predators, stating that there are far too many bears, cougars and coyotes.

He said that he is working to protect sheepman, cattleman, and hunters. He then said he knows a couple of sheepman that lost over 500 sheep last year.

Albrecht talked about how the deer population is being devastated by coyotes and how that’s troublesome because our deer herds bring a lot of hunters and a lot of money into rural Utah.

He is currently working with the DWR to work towards solving this problem and said they will hopefully have something outlined before the next legislative session starts.
