LAS VEGAS (Sept. 28, 2019) – Following a 3-0 victory at Southern Nevada on Saturday, the Snow College women’s volleyball team improved to 20-2 on the season. The win marks the fourth straight year the Badgers have posted 20 or more wins in a single season. The streak of four straight 20-win seasons is the longest for the Badgers during the rally scoring era.
Snow used a balanced offensive attack to down the Coyotes, led by sophomore Andreanna McKee who connected on eight-of-18 attempts to hit .333. Freshman Lydia Montague hit .571 on four-of-seven attempts with no hitting errors. Freshman Korrin Thornock had seven kills for the Badgers.
One of the top serving teams in the nation, Snow racked up six aces against Southern Nevada, led by freshman Jentry Ison who was credited with two aces.
Defensively, the Badgers held CSN to a .010 hitting percentage, forcing 25 Coyote attack errors. Snow out-blocked Southern Nevada 12-3, led by Montague who had a team leading four blocks.
Saturday’s three-set win marks the 15th shutout of the season, and the eighth in the last nine games.
After playing 21 of the past 22 matches away from home, the Badgers will return to Ephraim on Thursday, Oct. 3 to take on nationally ranked Salt Lake Community College (19-5, 2-0). Match time against the Bruins is slated for 7 p.m. at the Horne Activity Center.
