Dixie State Baseball Hires New Pitching Coach

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday, Dixie State baseball announced the hiring of Zach Wilkins as the program’s new pitching coach per a statement from head coach Chris Pfatenhauer.

Wilkins comes to Dixie State from a 2-year stint as a graduate assistant for the University of Arizona.

During his time with the Wildcats, they posted a 64-44 record (.589).

Before arriving at Tucson, Ariz., Wilkins pitched at the University of Nevada for current Wildcats head coach Jay Johnson.

While starring for the Wolf Pack, Wilkins helped the squad to their first all-time Mountain West Conference championship in 2015 and also led Nevada to the 2016 MWC tournament title game in 2016.

With the Wolf Pack, Wilkins posted a 5-3 record with 54 strikeouts in 67 innings of work.
