Utah Baseball Hosts Oregon For Weekend Series

SALT LAKE CITY-Friday through Sunday, Utah baseball (7-12, 1-5 in Pac-12 play) hosts the Oregon Ducks (12-9, 2-4 in Pac-12 play) as their conference season continues at Smith’s Ballpark.

The Utes will be playing their first conference series of the season at home and these are the Ducks’ first conference road games.

Oregon will be spending the entire week in the Beehive State as they fell 7-3 at BYU Tuesday and will play at Utah Valley Wednesday evening.

Utah has won two of their last three games against the Ducks.

Junior second baseman Oliver Dunn leads the Utes with a .355 batting average. He also leads the Pac-12 with 13 doubles and is 10th in the conference in on-base percentage at .468.

Dunn is also ninth in the conference with a .592 slugging percentage.

Redshirt junior catcher Zack Moeller leads the Utes in home runs (3) and RBI (22).

Utah senior left-handed pitcher Joshua Tedeschi (3-2 on the season) is the Utes’ leading pitcher thus far.

The Ducks are led by junior first baseman Gabe Matthews in batting average (.377), hits (29) and RBI (42). Matthews is tied with junior infielder Spencer Steer and redshirt junior catcher Cameron Campbell in home runs as they each have two apiece.

The Ducks lead the Utes all-time 18-6.
