ST. GEORGE, Utah-Saturday, Juab’s girls’ tennis squad put forth a solid effort to down Class 4-A Mountain Crest 3-2 at the St. George Tournament hosted by Pine View High School.

For the Wasps, 1st singles star Jessie Bills prevailed 1-6, 6-3 (10-4 tiebreaker) as did Keanna Williams in 2nd singles, 7-4, 6-3. Third singles standout Emma Echols won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.

The Wasps’ first doubles squad of Ashlyn Dansi and Jessica Willmore won 6-4, 6-1 and the second doubles squad, consisting of Olivia Foster and Katie Marchant downed their Mountain Crest counterparts 7-5, 6-2.
